Dr Martin Mehdi Habibi. DDS DClinDent (Endo) MRACDS (Endo)
An essential doctrine of endodontic treatment is to eradicate the bacteria that are causing inflammation in pulp and periapical tissues. Since root canal debridement and anti-bacterial irrigation cannot reliably achieve root canal disinfection, the supporting action of intracanal medicaments is often advocated. Ledermix and Odontopaste are two commercial products for endodontic application and comparisons between them have always been controversial. Doxypaste is also pending TGA approval for clinical trial and use. This lecture will discuss the efficacy of these medicaments by comparing the release and diffusion of their active components through human tooth roots.
Dr Martin Mehdi Habibi graduated as a general dentist in 2005 and completed his DClinDent in Endodontics at UWA in 2019. He has lectured locally and internationally. His research projects have resulted in publication in peer-reviewed journals. Currently, Dr Habibi has a private practice in Canberra restricted to Endodontics. He was a clinical tutor at the University of Melbourne from 2013-2016, and currently maintains an association with Sydney University as a clinical tutor.
