The 2021 ASE (Federal) Meeting & AGM will be a hybrid format "Pre-Congress" half-day Brunch Meeting and AGM to be held on 11th September. This hybrid format is being trialled due to the unpredictable COVID environment we exist in at this time and we appreciate your support to make this a great meeting. 

Time:         Saturday 11th September at 8 am (SA/WA) 8.30 am (QLD/NSW/VIC)

Location:  ADA House 54 Havelock St. West Perth (ASEWA will host the meeting and provide the catering, whilst the event will be stream live around the country)

The 2021 ASE AGM will take place after the lectures in QLD/NSW/VIC/SA and between the lectures in WA.

KEYNOTE LECTURES

THE ENDO-ANTRAL CONNECTION - Understanding the Role of Endodontic Infections in Maxillary Sinusitis by Dr Rod Tataryn

Dr. Rod Tataryn is in full-time private practice endodontics in Spokane, Washington and is on the faculty of graduate endodontics at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, California.  He has published scientific and clinical articles on endodontics and odontogenic sinusitis and has served on the Clinical Practice Committee for the American Association of Endodontists.  He is a contributing author to several endodontic textbooks including: The Sixth and Seventh Editions of Ingle's Endodontics, the Second Edition of PDQ Endodontics, and The Art and Science of Contemporary Surgical Endodontics.  

ENDODONTIC MANAGEMENT OF THE TRAUMATISED INCISOR by Professor Mandeep Singh (Monty) Duggal

This lecture will present a treatment philosophy for the management of young, immature permanent teeth which have suffered trauma resulting in a non-vital pulp. The emphasis will be placed on current approaches that should be based on knowledge of cellular biology. Any attempt to provide treatment without an understanding of the tissue response to injury or to the treatment itself are doomed to failure. 

Professor Monty Duggal obtained his BDS from Patiala in 1983 and his MDSc in Paediatric Dentistry in 1986 in India. He then immigrated to the United Kingdom and obtained his FDSRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and his PhD from University of Leeds. He was appointed Professor and Chair of Child Dental Health at Leeds Dental Institute in 1999 where he oversaw a large, acclaimed postgraduate programme in Paediatric Dentistry. Professor Duggal is currently Dean of the College of Medicine at Qatar University.

Professor Duggal has published over 130 research papers in international journals and is author of Restorative Techniques in Paediatric Dentistry, which has been published in 7 languages and has sold over 16,000 copies worldwide.He is also a co-author of a textbook on Dental Traumatology and co-edited “Paediatric Dentistry” by Oxford, now in its 4th edition, and more recently “Paediatric Dentistry at a Glance”, published by Blackwell Wiley. He has administered research grants totaling more than 6 million pounds and is an internationally recognised researcher and clinician with a primary research interest in Cariology and Translation Research in Clinical Paediatric Dentistry, including dental traumatology.
