Basil Athanassiadis is a general dentist in Brisbane who graduated from University of Queensland in 1987. He obtained a research masters from UWA in 2007 under the supervision of Winthrop Prof Paul Abbott and Prof Laurie Walsh. The thesis was entitled “An in vitro investigation into the antimicrobial activity of some endodontic medicaments and their base using agar diffusion, biofilm testing and medicament inactivation by dentine”. He has been a continuous member of the Queensland branch of the Australian Society for Endodontology since 1996. He is an associate supervisor to the MPhil students since 2007 at the Dental School of the University of Queensland. Basil is also a developer of the first generic version of Ledermix paste called Endopaste (2003-2008) and recently co-developed a new, high pH, calcium hydroxide paste called Calmix.
UPDATE: Each participant will have the opportunity to try the Calmix, with Dr Basil's complement. The sample is valued at $90 RRP.
